We are building a supply chain that reflects the real cost of farming, protects the land from soil depletion and promotes biodiversity. Our radically seasonal sourcing preserves growing practices and cultural heritage in danger of being eliminated by high-yield, intensive commercial farming.
We work direct with small scale producers who grow without the use of chemical intervention. Beyond organic, at the core of their practice is regenerative agriculture: the rebuilding of soil fertility, protection of biodiversity and restoration of ecosystem health through the preservation of heritage varieties, seed selection and minimum intervention in the soil. In avoiding hybridised monocultures, our growers give us crops with incredible flavour and a greater nutritional value.
Our supply chain is designed to have a positive impact on the planet. We build the necessary infrastructure for small-scale growers to supply their produce at a higher volume without the need to compromise on soil health. We work closely with our growers on accurate forecasts based on a sustainable yield from the soil. Any surplus is redistributed to food charities or used to create biofuel. We aim to eliminate plastic packaging from the length of our supply chain by the end of 2019.
In putting radically seasonal produce in your hands, our aim is to raise a demand for better flavour and promote a sense of responsibility towards our food system. We should not underestimate the impact we can all have on the supply chain through how we choose to feed ourselves.
